aired out a little
so i went out for a little spin the other day. i figure it was about 250 miles but it went by way too fast. the tourists have not inundated the region with hoards of sluggish creampuffs, telephoto lenses and RVs; nothing but some sun and a little breeze.

I have a problem and I need help. Just not right now.
What I need right now are a pair of khaki shorts and some boat shoes so I can cruise fucking leisurely!

Tight box.
Just finished the battery box for Jenna's new 12 cell Ballistic lithium battery. Super small and light and can mount at any angle. The box bolts to 2 threaded and coped 1" bungs welded to the seat tube.
HD coil mount
Cut out some .250 thick frame tabs on the laser the other day to mount a dual post HD coil to Jeff's triumph frame and Jenna's ironhead.

Early bird gets the worm!
Or hopefully a sick wizard gas tank and some more 19" knobbies. Off to the swap!
A little closer
Re-gasketed my oil pump and thus my cam cover too. I wasn't real stoked with my previous work and changing it later would mean pulling the motor, cam cover, cams, and pump so I chose not to wait. Timing the breather gear is a little frustrating but not too hard. After that I installed my new standard lifters and shiny new lifter guides that I was too lazy to glass bead. Whatever, its all going to get covered with road herpes anyway.

Mother of citrus...
I was out with the lady on the trustbucket with our knees in the breeze when i came across some hoggers. We decided to make ourselves comfy and take in some sights. I kid you not this is one serious lady rider!!!
Makin' moves
Trying to finish building Jenna's bike and finish rebuilding my engine at the same time. As is usually the case its come down to the wire. Pray for snow.

Sloppy holes.
No one likes a sloppy hole. Well some do, but that's for another post. The hole I'm refering to is in my ironhead transmission's pawl support. It's worn as fuck and when shifting from 2nd to N the cam plate would cock sideways and jam until you stomped the pedal...but not any more. Jim P. bored out the support on his wire EDM and turned a oilite bearing to press fit. The result is the smoothest working pawl assembly I've seen yet. Check it. On a side note welding 40 year old cast shit to repair a crack sucks monster dak.

first real day out...
my planning skills rival that of a four-year-old's. why would i even consider getting a new toy considering the constant bulimia of my bank account. further more, why would i pick up a long-gun when my transportation consists of a two-wheeled, rolling, come-apart? that being said, the looks i got on the way home were well worth the trouble.
