Time to make some room.

Selling my 1986 yamaha it200. Only year made with front disc brake. Same 2 stroke 200cc engine as in yamaha blaster atv. Has 6 speed transmission. Bike runs and is ridable. Selling because I just don't give it any attention anymore. THE BIKE IS 100% STREET LEGAL AND COMES WITH A CLEAN MASSACHUSETTS MOTORCYCLE TITLE. This is a 2 stroke dirt bike you can LEGALLY ride on the street. Comes with street tires, has knobbys on it now, lots of different gears, an extra rear shock you can rebuild as a spare, extra rear fender, and I think I have an extra rim somewhere. $650/bo 774-269-2382

days 10 and 11

after i stayed up checking IDs all friday night i though i deserved a 'lil R&R so up the lift i went with a few co-conspirators in tow. ropes were cut and gapers were tormented with relentless persistence. towards the end of it when everyone else had to go to work i had some runs by myself and popped a few pics. the camera-phone doesn't do that great a job but you get the point. i heart Copper Mtn.

 then saturday was on...
riding in bounds is a bunch of fun and its super easy to access. but back country is where the shit is at.
Loveland Pass is still pretty thin in many places but where the snow is thick, its also slidey. CAIC forecasted the area as having "considerable avalanche danger" with persistent slabs forming in most of the fun spots, significant cross loading and a consistent 30mph wind with gusts knocking me down a few times. fortunately i know of a few solid ribbons running down from the ridge.
i was doing a little jig down at the hitching spot and managed to score a few rides back up to the top in short order. some folks run a shuttle with a group of friends but i am most often here on my own so exercising one's thumb is crucial. its also a big part of the fun because who knows what is going to pick you up; a lesson i have learned is to NOT take your helmet off till you get all the way back up and on your own again, you never know when you might have to bail out.
the slope wasn't that fast but the snow was nice and soft. i was white washed a few times after hitting underlying rocks but nothing worse than a stiff neck and snow in the ass crack.

To all you naysayers!

I say SUCK IT! Extensive research at the Coconut Customs La-bored-atory has successfully rephased coffee. By sending the stale shit from this morning through fresh grounds we have accomplished what was once thought impossible. Despite previously accepted fairy tales suggesting catastrophic machine implosion, that shit is fine. Maybe just a lil bitter.

quandary peak

this week's outing landed us way up there past 14,000 feet. it is a rare thing to be up here in Dec. I've seen it snow and lightning at the same time up here in the spring. its nice to be on top of the world again after years of being away.

whatta let-down

my current workspace is a complete letdown but its better than working in the rain. the winter maintenance has commenced and the list is long. the stakes are a little higher than usual because i now work for a company that gives a decent amount of PTO. Soooo.... hopefully the summer will be filled with above average amounts of pavement pounding.

i got a package in the mail today from my friend currently serving in the sandbox. i am truely touched by the gift. you don't need a special day to thank a soldier.

i don't have a garage at the moment and that totally blows. i have a ton of ideas that i want to pull the trigger on but adequate shelter prevents that. but on a posi note, i am becoming reacquainted with some fun. in this case: Loveland Pass. i went out to shake up my memory of this place. mainly on how silly the weather can get, where the rocks are and how the snow is settling. i took a short walk around but a time constraint forced a premature return. it was just below zero with a steady 30mph wind and a soupy sky but it felt so good to be out there.

don't judge me

radium release hitch as a safety...
the ramp to get it to the floor...
 the bike is harnessed
the compound 5:1 up-haul system to raise it up to window height...
and when all that silly shit became too complicated, this is the the way it happened. with a boring-ass hand truck and an unhelpful room mate.
i need a new hobby. needle point seems nice and light...

Gilman, CO

this place was abandoned around 1985 and is truely a ghost town. i went poking around the other day and took a bunch of pictures. i haven't got a garage at the moment so i've been goofing around with photoshop and whatnot.

Vail Pass

the pass was shut down tonight. not really a very big deal, it'll happen several more times over the winter. its just kinda weird for me to see 4 miles of grid-lock way out here and right out my front door.
